1972 Triumph GT6 MK 3 Rotoflex Manual with Overdrive. Brooklands green with black upholstery This GT6 is a rare four seat car and has just returned from a round trip to Le Mans Classic. This Triumph was subject to a body off restoration in 2009 and was undertaken by Mr Roy Ross who is the area organiser for the Cumbria region of the Triumph Sports Six Club. The chassis was taken back to bare metal and painted black. The work carried out included: Two new floor pans. Two inner wings. Two outer wings. Boot floor. Rear valance. Outer sills. Both B posts. Two rear wing inner repair sections. Two A post repair sections. Roof edge finisher. Two rear wing finishers. Tinted windscreen. Door and window seals. Wiper arms and blades. Door mirrors. Windscreen gutter channels. Drop glass channels. Door hinges and check straps. Clutch and brake master cylinder stainless steel mounting brackets. New suspension poly bushes. Front and rear wheel bearings. Rear shock absorbers. Front Spax shocks. Front trunions. Steering ball joints. New brake lines. Master cylinder. Front discs and pads. Rear wheel cylinders and brake linings. Overhauled front calipers. Goodridge hoses. New clutch assembly. New pipe and overhauled clutch master and slave cylinder. New propshaft UJ's and balanced. Serviced gearbox, overdrive and rear diff. New rear drive couplings and bolts. New tyres. Engine work carried out: New water pump timing chain and oil pump. Lightened and balanced short engine, new camshaft and lightened followers, new valves and springs, all new head and suitable for unleaded fuel. Electronic ignition, new HT leads rotor arm and cap. K & N filters. Sports exhaust system with lagged branch manifold and high torque starter. New radiator and silicone hoses, electric fan. New fuel pump and lines, silicone tank pipe and overhauled carburettors. New roof lining, carpet set and glove boxes. Drivers seat cushions and back rest. New door cards and trim panels. Reupholstered dash top. This is a very sorted car that drives extremely well. During the rebuild the GT6 was fitted with a new fibreglass bonnet and had a complete repaint. The car is very presentable but on close inspection the paintwork has some microblistering on various panels and would benefit from some paint rectification if you want to make it a show car, having said that it is very usable and can be left as it is if you wish. On test drive the Triumph performed just as it should with a strong engine, excellent oil pressure, and a smooth gearbox with overdrive in 3rd and 4th. In summary this is a super GT6 that is ready to use and enjoy. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Please contact us for any further information.
