SINGER JUNIOR

In 1926, Singer introduced the Singer Junior at the London Car Show. The model was powered by an 8hp, two bearing, overhead camshaft engine which developed a peak of 16.5 horsepower at 3250 RPM. Although diminutive, this engine would be the progenitor of Singer power units for the next three decades. The Junior came with a three speed gearbox and four wheel braking was introduced in 1928. This was a very popular car with Singer selling thousands of units in various form with production after 1927 never dropping below 6000 units per year. Made between 1926 and 1931, the Singer was at that time Britain’s third largest car manufacturer after Austin and Morris, and competed head on with the famous little Austin 7!
This car has been owned by our customer since 1981 and has been used throughout it's life and has been kept in his garage. It is a sound lively car that was driven to us and we have also test driven and is has a strong engine and a good smooth gearbox. The steering was precise and the four wheel drum brakes a feature on many post 1926 Saloon cars are firm and responsive.
The car comes with a lovely history file, with a buff logbook, the old style blue logbook and a current V5 it also comes with old MOTs and invoices. Absolutely any inspection is welcome.
