SINGER 4AD

1952 Singer 4AD Roadster white with red interior. This Singer is post war with the chassis number ending in a V denoting it is a 1952 model, exported to Khartoum Sudan to Christis Simos. The car then came back to the UK and registered here in 1955 on registration RGO108 and with a bit of toing and froing in 1989 between the Department of Transport and The Singer Owners Club it then remained on its original registration.
From 1961 through 1955 Singer produced their final roadster, that being the 4AD Series officially known as the Singer SM model. This model had a 1497cc engine delivering 48 horsepower. Singer advertised these cars has having a combination of qualities which are not usually found in one car. With distinctive lines, a powerful 1500cc engine, and a lightweight coach-built body giving vivid acceleration and high cruising and maximum speeds. A top speed of about 75 mph. The roadster is, for example an occasional four seater, furthermore the hood and side screens are so designed as to provide closed car comfort when the weather is unfavourable to open air motoring. With the hood raised and screens in position the roadster retains its sporting lines and at the same time gives protection with ample head room.
This Singer has only had 3 previous owners in the UK with a comprehensive history file. The car benefits from a new leather interior, carpets hood and side screens and tonneau cover. New steering wheel, wiring loom, rear springs, crown wheel and pinion, front shock absorbers, clutch radiator core, dynamo and starter motor. Re-veneered dash with the correct instruments.
