1930 MG M-Type in Blue with Black interior and Black tonneau cover. Launched at the 1928 Motor Show, the ‘M’ Type, based on the contemporary Morris Minor, proved an instant success. Powered by the 847cc overhead camshaft engine, but now developing 20 bhp, the new ‘M’ Type was a lively performer, being capable of 65 mph - quite something for such a small car at the time. Numerous sporting achievements boosted sales and the Midget proved its mettle in trials and on the track, with class wins in the 1930 ‘Double 12pm race at Brooklands.
This stunning MG M Type is a matching number example. Subject to large recent expenditure including; new clutch fitted, full carburettor rebuild, engine flow and pressure tested from the years 2019-2021 to the sum of £2,500 the car is also fitted with trafficators, a stainless steel petrol tank, new inner tubes and matching Dunlop tyres, an electric fan and a battery charger. The history file comes with a certified copy of a Factory record, MG Midget manual, the original buff logbook and green logbook, detailed frame drawings/instructions and recent invoices and even the original purchase receipt dating back to April 5th 1930. Upon test test drive this lovely MG M Type drove extremely well, firing in to life it has a nice strong engine and good smooth gearbox. A rel pleasure to drive and also a real head turner of a car.
