1972 Mercedes Benz 350 SL Automatic. Nicknamed 'der Panzerwagen' by Mercedes-Benz's own development engineers, the R107-series was an engineering tour de force which remained in production for eighteen years (1971-1989). Styled by Bruno Sacco and surprisingly modern to drive thanks to all-round independent suspension, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, it was conceived as a grand tourer rather than an out and out sportscar. A strong performer, it remained in production until 1980. This particular car is presented in Champagne Gold with Palamino MB Tex upholstery, a chocolate mohair soft top and matching champagne hard top. This lovely SL was supplied new by Dingle Garages of Colwyn Bay in April 1972. The car has the original service book present with services carried out at 138, 4328, 10698, 22361, 28241, 35023, 42644, 46562, 51869, 54896, 61822 and 62550 miles and now having covered just 63,000 miles. The Mercedes is powered by the 3499cc V8 engine providing 195 bhp married to an automatic gearbox. This car has been very well cared for with no expense spared and most recently this year has had some work carried out and a set of new tyres totaling £2935, we also have some old MoT's in the history file along with an owners manual. On test drive the car performed without fault and was a real pleasure to drive easily keeping up with modern road demands. In summary this is a beautiful car with exceptionally low mileage that we think is a sound investment due the the rising prices of the R107 models. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. Viewing is highly recommended. All major debit and credit cards accepted. Please contact us for any further information. Delivery and shipping can be arranged.
