1969 Mercedes Benz W113 280SL Pagoda Manual. Dark green coachwork with tan soft top, cognac upholstery and brown carpets. Purchased by Mr Thomas J Rutledge of New Jersey in 1969. The car then passed to Mr John Nanorta of Pennsylvania who kept the car until 1996 when it was acquired by Mrs Marianne and returned to New Jersey. The SL passed its "Vehicle Inspection" on 20th July 1996 at which time the odometer was 10,594 (presumably 110,594). By June 1998 the odometer reading is recorded as 12,225 (112,225). The final document is a vehicle inspection report dated 19th September 2005, the vehicle passed and the mileage is recorded as 117,187. The vehicle was purchased from a Florida based lawyer in 2015 who had acquired the vehicle from an enthusiast. All taxes and duties have been paid. Some recommissioning has been carried out including a new radiator, battery, distributor plugs and fluids. The car now has a UK MoT and is UK registered. It is car number 7358 of the SL run. Equipped with late brake booster unlike early models, rare factory air conditioning which still works, original Becker radio, original tool kit, owners manual. Service and warranty booklet includes a metal plate confirming VIN and engine numbers. The paint on the aluminium bonnet has flaked in places and will need to be re-painted with other small areas of paint requiring attention. This is a largely original survivor vehicle that has real potential. It is an investment grade car, particually given its originality, the fact that it is the more desirable 280SL with manual transmission. Sensible offers invited.
