JAGUAR MARK II

Saloon 340 Auto (1967)

1967 Jaguar 340 MK II Automatic. Black with black leather upholstery. From September 1967, the Jaguar MkII range was replaced by the 240 and 340 models with slimmer bumpers, chrome grilles in place of the front fog lights and Ambla, rather than leather, interiors. Introduced to keep the range attractively priced until the launch of the new XJ6 in September 1968, some 2,788 340s were made during the period - the 240 carrying on as a budget model for some time to come. The good news was, that thanks to a new straight port cylinder head and twin SU carbs, a 240 was noticeably quicker than a 2.4 and a 340 had at least the performance of the old 3.8. This Jaguar has had lots of money spent over the last few years comprising of a complete bare metal restoration at a cost in excess of £25,000. Engine and automatic gearbox completely overhauled. New bearings and rubber bushes. Upgraded interior to include new seats from a Jaguar XJ6. The car also benefits from power steering, electric windows, heated seats, air conditioning, remote central locking, rear parking camera, new centre console, inertia seat belts, sun-visor lights, hazard warning switch, rear fog lamps, boot hold open rod, new lights in the boot. New 4 pot brake calipers installed on front, larger brakes fitted to rear and four new tyres were also installed during the re-build. The car comes complete with a very large and comprehensive history file containing a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, invoices for all parts used during the restoration including an engine and gearbox rebuild and a superb photographic folder of all the work carried out. On test drive the car performed well with a very strong engine and smooth gearbox and easily kept up with modern traffic. The body looks very straight, the 'shut lines' are good and the paintwork has a deep lustre. The interior is in very good order and there are no cracks on the dashboard. The engine bay is very tidy. as is the rest of the car. You will not be disappointed with this wonderful classic and viewing is highly recommended. Remarkable in condition this is a vehicle that any enthusiast would be very proud to own. Absolutely any inspection is welcome. All major debit cards accepted.
