JAGUAR MARK II

Saloon 3.4 (1964)

1964 Jaguar MK II 3.4 Saloon Manual Overdrive. British Racing Green with cream leather interior.
Introduced in 1959, the MKII has long been Jaguar's best-loved sports saloon. Its combination of svelte good looks, strong performance and gentlemen's club interior has successfully charmed every passing generation. Although, slower on paper than their range-topping 3.8 litre siblings, the 3.4 litre cars nonetheless boasted some 210bhp and 216lbft of torque, outputs sufficient to ensure a circa 120mph top speed and spirited acceleration (especially when fitted with the desirable four speed manual plus overdrive gearbox).
This MK II car was supplied new via Somerset Motors and first owned by a Mrs H Gibson. Between 2003 and 2015 the Jaguar was treated to a full restoration, during which the exterior colour was changed to the current British Racing Green and the interior re-trimmed in cream hide with matching carpets. The car also at this time benefitted from power assisted steering; Coombs spats; wire wheels (including spare); louvred bonnet; S-Type front brakes; up-rated suspension; ribbed cam covers; and Magna-Spark electronic ignition.
The previous owner purchased the car in 2016 and has since had the engine professionally rebuilt, by the late Colin Groome of Newton Abbot, Devon, the rebuild included a re-bore; new pistons; and conversion to accept unleaded fuel, while the clutch was replaced at the same time. Other recent works include installing rear seat belts; replacing several brake lines; and fitting a set of new tyres in 2020 (fewer than 1,000 miles ago)
This handsome MKII is offered for sale with some bills and invoices and a Heritage certificate. The paint still has a great lustre and the Coombs spats really set the car off along with its wire wheels. Power steering is also fitted which makes this car a pleasure to drive. On test drive the car performed well and easily kept up with modern traffic, the engine pulls well with good oil pressure. The Jaguar MK II is a very popular classic with many clubs and a huge parts backup service. This car is just waiting to be enjoyed in new hands and will grace any showground or collection. Absolutely any inspection is welcome and viewing is highly recommended. All major debit cards accepted. Part exchange welcome. Free U.K mainland delivery. Please call for any further information.
